Online sports betting site PartyBets.com has announced that it is now taking bets on who will reach the finals of the 2007 World Series Of Poker (WSOP) Main Event taking place July 17.
Leading the field in the market to make the final table are the likes of Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth and a well-backed Allen Cunningham. Prices for PartyPoker.com online qualifiers are also available and displayed by screen name.
Structuring a market on the Main Event is always difficult and predicting the number of runners this year seems all but impossible, said a PartyBets.com Spokesman.
What we have found, however, is that as soon as the market went up the money was for Allen Cunningham to make the final table for the second year running, fresh off the back of becoming the eighth player to win five bracelets. It is hard to make a firm prediction but it wouldn't surprise us if he is outright favourite to make the final table by July 6.
There is a trend already developing. It is lead by interest in Cunningham but in general the small money comes for all the well known names and the bigger liabilities are on online qualifiers.
PartyBets.com is continually updating the betting and adding names to make the final table but selected odds include Phil Ivey, Allen Cunningham and Phil Hellmuth at 20/1, Andrew Black, Paul Wasicka, Tony G, Roland De Wolfe, Doyle Brunson and Jennifer Harman at 33/1, Carlos Mortensen at 40/1 while those looking for longer odds can choose Patrik Antonius, Ram Vaswani or Jamie Gold at 66/1. |
